Many of you might have seen our fund raising efforts. With your help we have managed in the past year to get Kelocote to a little 2 year old so as to heal a keloidal scar from a nasty burn. We manged to help an orphan get through the long stretch of Chagim during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Succos. We enabled 23 women to prepare at a mikvah, immerse for free and obtain a gift of a box of bedkiah cloth. We managed to cover the debt to the mikvah of 2 other women.
As Pesach approaches, we began a wonderful raffle. Unfortunately many instead of joining us in spreeding goodness and kindness are purely interested in details. So here it is, a few details of some of those who have turned to us for help.

"I know of someone in need, is there a way for her to access assistance? She is a Holocaust Survivor, and survivor of a major stroke. She needs help paying for aides... Let me know if there are funds for her" This woman already suffered enormously during the Holocaust. Please have mercy on her and help her enjoy Pesach.
"Shoshanah, I am a disabled woman living alone, I have been looking for some help in my apartment as I cannot bend or lift more than 20 pounds! I have been looking for some help to change my bed sheets and clean my bathtub and small floor area !
"The other help I do need is money for bills which are gnawing at me!"
This woman will require assistance with cleaning for Pesach, as she obviously can not manage it herself. If this woman can not pay for basic bills, how will she manage for products for Pesach?
"I am writing this letter with a very heavy heart. My mom is an elderly handicapped woman who lives alone, and she needs help for pesach. She gets Tomchei shabbos, but that is all. Last year she got ONE CHICKEN and a box of matzah, and a jar of fish, oil, and non food substances. ONE chicken for the whole yomtov? I mean its nice they give, and I try to help out, but its not enough"
" I have been ill 5 out of 6 weeks and have not been able to work regular hours.it has been a bit tough ..." This woman is paid only for hours she works. She now faces loss of income which affects paying rent and basic expenses not to mention Pesach products. She has no living family to turn to for help.
"Would you be able to help us? We are Olim Chadashim and just getting settled. My husband was doing work and was laid off due to cut backs. We are trying other options and can barely manage rent but then we also have all the expenses for Pesach"
"You are doing a wonderful service. We are Olim Chadashim and professionals. We are looking for work but have not yet found anything. We were not told of the difficulties before coming. Can you help?"
"I made aliyah with my wife a month and a half ago. We have been looking for work for several weeks now with not much positive outcomes. We both qualified last year from University... We both don’t have much experience.
"We have our CV in Hebrew and English and have been on a lot of the online websites applying for jobs. We really require *URGENT* assistance."
"A single woman in her 50's, hardly known in the community is in need of help. She is just about to get up from sitting shiva for her mother, does not have a father anymore. Hardly had anyone come to pay a Shiva call, *URGENTLY* needs help for Pesach"
"Another single woman suddenly had to undergo major surgery with complications. Was in the process of paying off a debt and now has a set back on this. She *URGENTLY* needs our help"
"I was hoping you might be able to give me some advice in being successful with paying debts from an illness. I have not had much luck, and I'm really in crisis mode." This man *URGENTLY* needs our help"
"A young mother called me last night. She is about to give birth and her husband had an accident 2 days ago. He won't be able to work for a few weeks or to assist with Pesach cleaning. They need help with Pesach cleaning not to mention providing a seder for the family. He generally gets paid by the hour and hence will have loss of income at a time they really need it."
"Two divorced women nearing retirement age are struggling with basic bills due to increase in cost of living. They are working over hard to try to keep their jobs and dont know how to manage preparing for Pesach or the expenses for all the necessary products. "
These are just a few of the situations we hear about that need our help. The Baal Shem Tov teaches that everything we see and hear happens for a reason. Hashem gave us freedom of choice. We could choose to say "Shame, nebuch". But would that attitude bring practical, real basic assistance to these and other Jews?
We so believe in helping our fellow Jew that we have put together a raffle to raise money to help with Pesach expenses, our Purity with Dignity and a few other Mitzvah Projects. The truth is we would LOVE more prizes. We do realise that having a raffle with mostly in house prizes is not as appealing as big, fancy prizes. But this is a start, now we need YOU to help.
There is a deadline which is rapidly approaching. ONLY THREE Weeks to Pesach. Please either donate a prize, keeping in mind tickets are purchased from around the world, so prizes need to be easily shipped or transfered; or help in another way.
We need volunteers to help selling tickets AND
We URGENTLY need your donations or purchasing of raffle tickets.
If you don't like the prizes, think of the needs of the Jews listed above. Remember the teaching "Save one Jew and you save a whole world." Even if we helped one Jew it would be something. Already we have a whole group in need of help.

The Rema writes that there is a custom (brought at the beginning of Yerushalmi - Baba Basra) to give Tzedakah to the poor to enable them to have all their needs for the Yom Tov of Pesach in a respectable manner. This Tzedaka is known as "Maos Chittim" (money for wheat) or "Kimcha D'Pischa" (Pesach flour)
Every donation helps, even $1. Please give immediately you read this article and do not wait any longer. Your help can make a world of difference to one or more Jews.
While $1 is praiseworthy, $2.50 will purchase a raffle ticket.
Why not purchase 5 raffle tickets and get the 6th FREE.
Better yet, purchase a few raffle tickets and then leave a nice big donation. $50, $100, $200, $360 or more. These Jews and others URGENTLY need help. As Mordechai said to Esther, the redemption will come and Hashem has many Shlichim. But why wait? Why turn down the opportunity to help another Jew. Give now. Give generously and create a HUGE stir Above.
Hashem wants us to work together. Together let us BRING FREEDOM TO OTHERS. THIS Pesach and Onwards.
