Helping Jews in Israel this Purim!

" the days when the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month that was reversed for them from grief to joy and from mourning to a festive day-to make them days of feasting and joy, and sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor." - Megillat Esther 9:22

As part of our Bayit Chadash Project, we have had a number of donations of dried food, canned food and similar food items. Since Purim is rapidly approaching, we have decided to make up specific packages for Purim for any couple in need, though we especially favour helping couples in their first year after marriage start their lives together in dignity, with as little stress as possible.

The image above shows the food items that have been sent in. We are asking for donations either of money or items in order to make up beautiful packages for Purim to help Yidden in need in Eretz Yisrael. To meet this aim we need to add the following to the above items:

  • - Containers starting at ₪25
  • - Bottle of Grape Juice or Wine starting at ₪14
  • - Fresh Fruits starting at ₪10
  • - Cake or other Mezonos, starting at ₪10
  • - Packaging ₪10
  • - Delivery ₪40 (Providing Parnassa to the driver that we outsource to)
  • For those willing to send an additional donation or gift, we will be very happy to add in an additional extra to make their Purim that bit more special. This could be candles, Shabbat candles, pretty paper serviettes or any other surprise gift. For those who have a product they can donate, this will be welcome too.

Any donations are welcome, for those wanting to sponsor the remainder of the items needed for 1 package, the total would be ₪109. For examples of previous Mishloach Manos that we have made up, please see our Purim Gifts. Each package from this special group of Mishloach Manos will be photographed and uploaded to our website and blog, enabling donors to see where their donations are going to.

Please keep in mind that one third of the population living in Israel are living below the poverty line. Since it is a mitzvah to assist those in need on Purim, please give generously of your Maaser money to assist your fellow Jew.

For those who have friends or family living in Eretz Yisrael, you are welcome to place your order for a custom made Mishloach Manos to be sent to your friends or family for Purim. A percentage of the proceeds will go to our Bayit Chadash Project.

Thank you for your kindness.
