Keeping the flame alive by building

What would you do if your father, all your grandparents, most aunts and uncles you were close to and others you loved are all in the next world? What would you do if in addition to this, there is no next generation to give you joy and Nachas and help to continue Torah and Mitzvos for those who have gone before?

What would you do if in addition to this, you struggle to find work in the profession you put yourself through university in order to practice and be self-sufficient?

For me, all I can think of is to build a beautiful centre spreading Kindness and Truth to help Hasten the Geulah and a time to see my loved ones again. A special centre to create some merit to persuade Hashem to permit us to have another generation too.

To fund this, we have a variety of services and the development of our special Bayit Chadash store. We've been working hard and increasing stock, adding variety, listening to those who come to us, constantly working to improve and develop and progress.

As we were doing so, we received a phone call from the great granddaughter of Rebbe Elimelich of Lezinsk, could we assist her Bachur her first born to build his Bayit Ne'Eman. We received the letter of Hamlatza. What an honour to help the grandchild of such a Tzadik. Checking references complete, tomorrow will be a new day to begin planning what we can do. Then out of the blue we receive a phone call. Sorry, preparing weddings is not the order of the day, we need our apartment back and it's time for you to move on.

So move number 43 has begun. Looking for apartments, trying to gain insight from rabbis, Shuls and communities as to what area will be most suited for us and for our store. Packing, packing. The start of our lending library is packed. Our own library is packed. And the search continues.

Usually this time of year we are busily preparing Mishloach Manos, taking order, preparing quotes etc. This year, its apartment search, packing, davening, trying to sell items, packing.

We urgently need seed funding to take our Centre to the next level. Since we do not have family who can support or the correct friends, all we can do is appeal to you, the Jewish community to help us to make this dream become a reality. Ever since my 2nd year of university, I wanted a Healing Centre. Over the years I have refined it, but I need this centre to best use all the skills Hashem gave me to help increase Kindness and Truth. It'sa a desire from within me that I can not let go of.

The world needs Moshiach. The world needs Redemption. We all need unity of our loved ones.

What can YOU do to help us reach our goal? Are you willing to book any of our services? Are you willing to purchase from our store? Are you willing to make a donation and to share this with your friends?

Together we can make it happen

Helping orphan Chatanim and Kallot in Jerusalem

What would you do if you knew of an orphan who is about to be married? What kind of assistance would you give? Does it matter to you if they have a beautiful wedding, a home of their own, furniture, appliances and the basics of every Jewish home? Have you ever stopped to think what it is like to walk to Chuppah without one or both loving parent (s) at your side?

Chessed Ve'Emet knows the pain of the orphan. We have developed a special Bayit Chadash Gemach to assist in easing their pain and increasing their Simchah. We have 6 Kallot who have grown up in an orphanage. Yes, orphan girls hence they are Kallot. 5 of these special Kallot are due to come to Chuppah in Adar Bet. That is just a few weeks away. In the meantime, we at Chessed Ve'Emet are busily preparing Mikvah packages for them while apartment hunting, packing and more.

We have also just been approached by an orphan who is still in Aveilus for her mother, but Thank G-d coming to Chuppah. The list continues and we need your help.

If you have any toiletries, Shabbat candles, Havdalla Candles, towels, linen, household items that are brand new and you do not need, please email us ASAP to donate to our orphan Kallot. Please note we accept new and unused items only.

Our Mikvah / Kallah packages need to be ready speedily to deliver to these girls. We have one complete and the start of the second. Please respond ASAP if you have items or Tzeddakah to donate.

If you have time available to volunteer, there are many options for volunteers and we can really use your help.

You are welcome to purchase from our Bayit Chadash store, this stores enables us to fund our Bayit Chadash Gemach.

The truth is, to make the store we are developing a success, we need proper start-up funding. Please join us to make this successful. Share with your friends and if you know any Jewish businessmen who care about orphans, please share with them too or have them be in touch.

Progress of our Bayit Chadash Gemach and Store

If you are new to this blog, welcome. The image above is an image from our Bayit Chadash store. The items in this store are one of the ways we raise money to carry out the services of our Bayit Chadash Gemach, assisting needy orphan Chatanim and Kallot. This includes an interview with the Chatan and Kallah which can last an hour or more, processing the letter of approbation, checking references and deciding on the most appropriate package for the couple, gathering items if we do not yet have them in stock, and, for couples connecting with us in time, reducing expenses for the wedding. It also takes time for the couples to come to select the items from our Bayit Chadash store to the value of a gift voucher which varries according to the situation of the couple.

The items in the image above are neatly arranged on shelves in categories. Items on this side are either sold at prices lower than regular stores to those supporting our Bayit Chadash Gemach and store, or are given to our couples.

In addtion to the new items, we accept clothing both new and second hand in excellent condition, toys, games, books and CD's. These items are all sold at low cost to help to raise money for the work we do while also assisting those living on a tight budget to obtain quality items at prices they can afford. We aim to grow this to provide work for our couples.

In the meantime, thanks to generous donations, as seen in the image above and the one below, we have overflowed the space and resources provided. We URGENTLY need more shelves and also several clothing rails.

We are needing to move and since this Bayit Chadash Gemach ans store is still from our home, it moves with us. With increase in stock, we need your kind donation to help with:
1) Moving expense
2) Time taken from generating income to pack these items
3) Shelves and clothing rails
4) The ability to rent an apartment with enough space to continue what we are doing, preferably in Yerushalayim as most of our clients are from Yerushalayim

If you would like to purchase an item or order a gift package for a Kallah or loved one, please either email us or visit our store in person. If you have time spare and are able to volunteer to assist either with selling some items or assisting us to pack or collecting items for Mishloach Manos packages, we are behind in this due to moving close. We would appreciate any assistance you can assist.

If you are a graphic designer and able to contribute by assisting to design a logo as a Chessed, that would be greatly appreciated too.

Thank you for assisting us to continue to develop the services of Chessed Ve'Emet and our Bayit Chadash Gemach and store in particular.

Please note, we will be editing the details on the campaign. We have had some criticism that the Chatan is wearing a black hat. We would like to point out that our couples come from various Hashkafot, what they have in common is that they are Jewish orphans getting married and lack parents to assist them to set up their new home. Assisting them is a very high Mitzvah the reward of which is available in the world to come as it is too lofty for this world.
